These tiny pests are difficult to get rid of and can cause a lot of damage in your home if left unchecked. These ants are small, only about 1\/16 of an inch long (1.5 mm). They are light brown or yellow in color and have a dark brown or black abdomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Pharaoh ants can be confused with other species such as thief ants, bigheaded ants, fire ants, and several other species of small pale ants. Thief ants also only have a two-segmented club (at the end of the antennae), the Pharaoh ant has a three-segmented club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Bigheaded and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/entnemdept.ufl.edu\/creatures\/urban\/ants\/little_fire_ant.htm\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fire ants<\/a>&nbsp;have a pair of spines on the thorax whereas the Pharaoh ant doesn&#8217;t.
